Evans Yegon, better known by his artistic pseudonym Yegonizer, is a talented Kenyan visual artist renowned for his vibrant and expressive style. Born in Bomet, Kenya, in 1985, Yegonizer's passion for art blossomed early on. He honed his skills at the Buruburu Institute of Fine Art (BIFA) from 2006 to 2008, where he delved into the world of fine art and painting.
Since turning professional in 2008, Yegonizer has captivated audiences with his unique approach to portraiture and landscape painting. His works often feature bold strokes of acrylic paint, creating a dynamic and visually striking effect. His ability to capture the essence of his subjects, whether human or natural, has earned him recognition both locally and internationally.
Yegonizer's artistic journey has taken him to various exhibitions and galleries, including the Nairobi National Museum, Little Art Gallery Nairobi, Cultural Heritage Arusha, and the Kigali City Tower. His work has also been showcased at the GoDown Art Centre, where he served as a resident artist from 2013 to present.
Currently, Yegonizer is focusing on a series of circular portraits that celebrate the diversity and beauty of the Kenyan people. Through his art, he aims to share stories and evoke emotions, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.
